Wow, we've been home for three weeks! It's been so busy but so rewarding too. We are enjoying watching and hearing Anja pick up more English. She still tells us lots of stories and "reads" to us in Russian, but she throws in some English words now and then too. We went to the doctor last week and everything looks good. She needs to update some shots, but overall she's a healthy 4 year old - Praise God! We have a lot more work to do at the dentist, but fortunately she did great at her first visit. We'll see how the next time goes though...now that she knows what happens there.
Some of our favorite moments have been watching and hearing her pray, repeating what we say, but also adding her own prayers to Him in Russian and some English. She also loves the "musica" in the car - choosing which song she wants to listen too - and so far no kids music yet! She loves her babies, playing with other kids, she loves other people's pets (we don't have one-yet!), and she loves going to see the cows. Today she went around the dairy w/Casey in the pickup and just sat with her arm out the window checking everything out with him. It's so wonderful to see her take everything in and adjust and adapt to her new surroundings. Don't get me wrong, we have plenty of temper tantrums and battle of wills, but overall she's a happy girl who brings smiles to our faces. Smiles even in the middle of the night when I carry her back to her room and she asks me, "corovka spatkey, dah?" (Cows sleeping, yes?) as we walk past the kitchen window. She's a special little girl and we're so thankful she's home.
